About
The Brand
The 'Running A’ Brand was the creation of Robert James Ainsley or ‘Jim' as he is known, Kel and Ross’s father.
He designed it and used it on all his homebred horses on their station in New South Wales, Australia. A polo player himself, it was their father’s encouragement and support of their involvement in horses, that enabled the boys to gain their deep understanding and knowledge from an early age; this fueled their passion and ability with horses and polo. |
They continue to use and grow this Ainsley brand within the Polo and Equine industry in honour of him 'The Running A' since 1947.
The Farms
New Zealand is renowned for its unspoilt, native scenery and expansive natural beauty. With its comparatively small population, compared with its size, it is a country like no other. It also is home to the New Zealand Thoroughbred, arguably one of the best canvases from which to produce the worlds best polo ponies. Tucked away into this breathtaking country you will find the home of what Polo Times referred to as the 'Ainsley Polo Pony Factory’.
Split between two large farms, 40 minutes from each other and both in beautiful settings characteristic of the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand's North Island. Ainsley Polo offers you the best of both worlds.
The main ‘home field’ Tipperary Park, is a stones throw from New Zealand's vibrant ecomonic centre Auckland in the North Island, where grooms and players alike can base themselves for all or parts of the season and where house chukkas and summer polo takes place on a daily basis. A couch grass field at the bottom of a volcanic crater on the outskirts of Pukekohe, surrounded by 150 acres of farmland offers you a country feel but with all the convenience of the city within a short driving distance.

The Beach Farm, on New Zealand's western coast, a scenic 40 minute journey from Tipperary Park. It is utilised mainly during the colder months for the grazing of the horses, and provides the opportunity for beach chukkas against the backdrop of breathtaking black sandy beaches and the opportunity for outstanding rides across the dunes as its 300 acres roll out onto the shoreline itself.
